Course Overview

The one day course is designed to give users a general overview of the course and understand the concepts behind AutoCAD. This course is also designed to be a good class for project managers or other team members that need a general understanding of the possibilities AutoCAD offers but who will not be using the software on a daily basis.

Note: Autodesk AutoCAD 2017 software is required and is supplied in Education Version by a free download via the AutoDesk student website.

Units and Structure

Chapter 1: Getting Started

  • Exploring the AutoCAD 2017 Windows User interface

Chapter 2: Basic Drawing Skills

  • Navigating 2D drawings

Chapter 3: Using Drawing Aids

  • Ortho and Polar Tracking

Chapter 4: Editing Entities

  • Creating selection sets

Chapter 5: Creating and Editing Text

  • Creating text styles

Chapter 6: Dimensioning

  • Styling dimensions

Chapter 7: Printing and Plotting

  • Plotting in model space
  • Plotting layouts in paper space

Entry Requirements

You'll need to have:

A working knowledge of Microsoft Windows is all that is required.
