Marie Wroe

I have been with the college over 15 years as course leader for the dance course and have recently taken on the musical theatre course.

I studied dance from the age of nine within a local dance school and at sixteen joined Doncaster College to complete the National Diploma in Performing Arts dance. I then went on to study dance at degree level at Bretton Hall university before joining the college as a member of staff whilst completing my teacher training here.

I am trained in Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap, Disco and my main area of expertise, contemporary dance. I have also had many years’ experience in singing and performance.

I absolutely love my job role here within the College, inspiring young people to follow their own dreams.

Profile image

During my time in college, I was inspired by both the teachers and students to push my aspirations further to what I thought I was able. The course helped me in many ways to become confident and also helped me push further to achieve my dreams. I applied for many dance/stage schools and managed to secure a place at LIPA on the dance degree. If it wasn’t for this course I wouldn’t know half the things I know now and I wouldn’t be the person I am today.
