Marie Wroe

I have been with the college over 15 years as course leader for the dance course and have recently taken on the musical theatre course.

I studied dance from the age of nine within a local dance school and at sixteen joined Doncaster College to complete the National Diploma in Performing Arts dance. I then went on to study dance at degree level at Bretton Hall university before joining the college as a member of staff whilst completing my teacher training here.

I am trained in Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap, Disco and my main area of expertise, contemporary dance. I have also had many years’ experience in singing and performance.

I absolutely love my job role here within the College, inspiring young people to follow their own dreams.

Studying on the Musical Theatre course was better than I ever thought it could be.

I loved every single minute of it, especially all of the practical sessions and performances we got chance to do. Being on the course really gave me the confidence and the push to apply for a degree course studying special effects makeup at Manchester University.

I honestly couldn’t have done it without the help and support of the tutors, I was so lucky to have built the relationships I did with my course leaders and will be forever thankful for everything.
