Course Overview

The course provides a first step into operation, repair and servicing of motor vehicles.  The skills you will learn include how to work safely, in an organised way, how to service the modern vehicle, change lubricants, safely remove and replace brake pads, check the service ability of lights.

Units and Structure

The course consists of 6 units, ranging from Health and Safety, Careers in the Motor Industry to Interim Servicing and Other Vehicle Systems.

Alongside the main motor vehicle qualification you will also have the opportunity to improve your Maths and English skills.  All of these go towards completing your programme of study.

Entry Requirements

You'll need to have:

One of the following:

  • 4 GCSE’s at grade D or above including  Maths and English
  • Introduction to Vehicle Technology Entry 3 Certificate plus 4 GCSE’s at grade D or above, including Maths and English

All applicants should have an interest in the motor industry.
