Course Overview

Workplace learning will promote ‘in work’ progression of employed individuals with low skills via work related skills training providing provision that will raise their attainment, enabling to improve their employment status and move on to undertake higher level qualifications.

Units and Structure

To achieve the full qualification candidates must attain a minimum of 37 credits in total.

This comprises:

  • All of the mandatory units (11 credits).
  • A minimum of 7 credits from Section A.
  • The remaining 19 credits from either section A or B

MANDATORY UNITS

  • 101 – Maintain a safe, hygienic and secure working environment.
  • 104 – Work effectively as part of a hospitality team.
  • 201 – Give customers a positive impression of yourself and your organisation.

SECTION A – BEVERAGE SERVICE OPTIONAL UNITS

211 – Prepare and clear the bar area.

212 – Serve alcoholic and soft drinks.

213 – Prepare and serve cocktails

214 – Prepare and serve wines.

217 – Prepare and serve dispensed and instant hot drinks.

218 – Prepare and serve hot drinks using specialist equipment.

SECTION B – OPTIONAL UNITS

215 – Maintain cellars and kegs.

216 – Clean drinks dispense lines.

219 – Receive, store and issue drinks stock.

261 – Resolve customer service problems (ICS).

273 – Promote additional services or products to customers (ICS)

274 – Deal with customers across a language divide (ICS).

275 – Maintain customer service through effective handover (ICS).

205 – Maintain and deal with payments.

Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme

We're proud to be able to offer Dual Career Accreditation via the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme. This is a Sport England funded partnership between athletes, education institutions, and national governing bodies of sport.

The Scheme helps athletes in education – aged 16-plus – to get the very best from their sporting and academic careers without having to choose between the two.
