Workplace learning will promote ‘in work’ progression of employed individuals with low skills via work related skills training providing provision that will raise their attainment, enabling to improve their employment status and move on to undertake higher level qualifications.

Units and Structure
You complete 3 mandatory units:
- Maintenance of a safe, hygienic and secure working environment
- Working effectively as part of a hospitality team
- Maintain food safety when storing, preparing and cooking food
You also choose optional units (usually 3-4) from:
- Cook vegetables
- Prepare vegetables
- Prepare and finish simple salad and fruit dishes
- Prepare and cook fish
- Prepare and cook meat/poultry
- Prepare and cook pasta
- Prepare and cook rice
- Prepare and cook eggs
- Prepare and cook pulses
- Prepare and cook vegetable protein
- Cook and finish simple bread and dough products
- Prepare and cook grain
- Prepare and clear areas for counter and takeaway service
- Provide a counter and takeaway service
- Maintain customer care
- Package food for delivery
- Prepare hot and cold sandwiches
