These courses offer excellent training whilst you are working alongside your employer to give you the help and support you need to gain your qualification. You will be employed in industry and attend college one day per week; and will be paid a training wage whilst you gain your level 2 qualification. At Intermediate you will work as an apprentice or salon barber. Carrying out services including cutting hair, cutting facial hair, basic patterns, perm and neutralise and colouring men’s hair.
As an Advanced Apprentice you will work as a Barber or Senior Barber. Carrying out services including patterns in hair, colouring, colour correction, creative hairdressing skills and perming, as well as shaving, cutting and shaping beards & moustaches.
12 months per level
Apprentices will attend college one day a week with the rest of the time spent in employment.
Qualifications included in the Apprenticeship framework are
Diploma in Barbering at Level 2 or 3
Functional Skills in Maths and English at Levels 1 or 2
