The Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) course will start in
September and will run until July. This is an excellent course provided by
the college and most employers are asking potential or existing employees to
gain this qualification, as they would now be part of a professional body
At the end of the year a further synoptic exam will be taken and this will
cover the first three subjects above and Working Effectively in Finance.
The results of all exams will not be known straight away and learners will have
to wait between 6 and 10 weeks for their results. On successful completion
of this course you would be able to apply for the AAT Advanced
Accounting next September.
On completion of the course you should be able to get a job as a Purchase or
Sales ledger clerk, or a junior bookkeeper.
The costs for the course will depend on your age, what previous
qualifications that you have already achieved at, whether you are on benefits or
in full time employment. For full details of the costs please ring Linda
Scott on 01302 553553 in the Learner Services Department at the Hub.
If you have to pay the full costs for the course it is £800
The course fees will include your membership to AAT, all materials for the
course and all exam fees for 2 sittings only, (should you not pass any of
the exams then the resit costs would have to be paid for by yourself).
