The aim of this programme is to provide a further progression route for those students who have previously achieved a Foundation Degree or equivalent in a sports-related area.

The programme offers a multi-disciplinary approach to studying and applying knowledge of sport and exercise in a health, educational and professional context. Opportunities are also provided to specific study areas of interest through the completion of a dissertation.

This new online degree programme not only prepares you fully for the world of work with sport, health and exercise, but allows you the flexibility to work alongside your education provision.

You will study the following modules:

Sport Psychology
Physical Education and Coaching.
Physical Activity, Exercise and Healthy Living
Employability and Contemporary Issues in Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences
Research Methods
Major Independent Research Project

We use a large variety of assessments at the university centre. These range from traditional essay style assessments, to lab work, practical assessments and novel assessments such as website creation. These have all been designed with the dynamic sport industry at minds, to help prepare you for the real world and gain employment.

One of the following:

Foundation Degree Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences
Foundation Degree/HND in a relevant Sports related area
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

We welcome applications from people of any age who might not meet the standard entry criteria, but we would expect to see evidence of continuing academic and/or professional development and a capacity to pursue the course successfully. Applicants will need to evidence sufficient IT skills due to the nature of the distance learning programme.

Successful graduates could progress to a range of careers, for example:
• Sports Coach
• Coach Educator
• PE Teacher
• Health Specialist
• Sports Development Officer
• Sports Scientist (Fitness trainer, Psychologist)

Additionally, you could continue their studies to as Master degree in your chosen field.
