A 2 day conference to support practitioners in closing the attainment gap through

effective parental partnerships and supporting the needs of boys

Delegates can chose to attend both days or just one. The keynote speakers details denote the focus of each day.

Day 1

Professor Charles Desforges – Keynote speaker

​Leading international expert in the field, Published Author, International Government Advisor, Independent Researcher

Professor Desforges was awarded the OBE in the 2004 New Years Honours List for Services to Education. Charles’ speech at this conference will concentrate on the massive impact that parental engagement can have on learning​

Day 2​

​Gary Wilson- Keynote speaker

Published Author,  School Improvement Officer, National Conference Speaker​

Currently a freelance consultant and author of several books including “Breaking Through the Barriers to Boys’ Achievement” and (for parents) “How to Help Your Boy Succeed”. Three programmes have been made about his work for Teachers TV:  “Raising Boys’ Achievement” parts one and two and “The Trouble With Boys” . Gary’s speech will focus on raising the achievement of boys developing caring masculinities.

Location: The Stables, High Melton

A marketplace/trade stands will be provided giving the chance to gain further information in key areas, and view/purchase resources suitable for developing your provision. There will also be the opportunity to purchase tickets for a raffle.

Cash machines are available on-site.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided; please ensure you notify Sandra Dolan of any dietary requirements/allergies when booking your workshop.

A choice of 4 different workshops will be made available each day, these can be booked once you have paid for your place.
