Award in Outdoor Learning Level 1


This Level 1 qualification will provide you with an introduction to the Forest School ethos and learning in the outdoors.

Course Content

This course looks at both the type of learning and development that is going on at Forest School and Curriculum Based Outdoor Learning, as well as helping you to start developing your own practical skills.

This course will suit you if you have little or no experience of working in the outdoors, and it will build your confidence in the safe use of equipment and tools.

There is a one day course completion workshop about three quarters of the way through the course. In addition to the course dates, lead tutor Sarah Robertson is available during the course for tutorial help by telephone or email.

Please note: This is an introductory course and as such does not qualify you to lead Forest School or Curriculum Based Outdoor Learning sessions.

  • Learn about the woodland environment and its wildlife and how to minimise impact.

Assessment

Completion of the Level 1 booklets takes place during the course.

Entry Requirements

No qualifications are required to apply for this course however applicants must be aged 16 or above and you may also need a DBS check.
