Laura has been thoroughly enjoying her training with the company for just over three months and is regarded as key, polite and well liked member of the team. Davina Wanti-Singh, Office Manager at PIC explained, “Laura has taken on much additional responsibility within what started as a junior role and is continuously developing within the department and the wider company. We are delighted with her progress and would highly recommend Doncaster College.”
Doncaster College and University Centre works closely with local businesses to increase the number of apprenticeship opportunities for young people in the Doncaster area. Apprenticeships are a great way for young people to gain skills and qualifications whilst earning and also benefitting businesses in allowing them to develop and retrain their workforce to meet business needs.
Pat Meadows, Assistant Principal External Partnerships and Employer Engagement stated that, “This is a great achievement for Doncaster in reducing the number of young people out of work and having a positive impact on the local economy. We now have over 1,000 apprentices undertaking a range of vocational programs, with new vacancies being identified on a daily basis.”
