Doncaster College and North Lindsey College have merged as the DN Colleges Group, creating a major new education provider for the region.
Doncaster College and North Lindsey College will continue to provide the same high quality local teaching and learning opportunities, retaining their own names and distinct identities while maximising the opportunities of being part of one combined organisation, improving options and experiences for students as they gain skills and qualifications that meet the needs of local and regional employers.
Andy Tuscher has been appointed Chair of the newly formed DN Colleges Group. Andy comments, “This partnership of equals establishes the DN Colleges Group as a financially strong organisation that will continue to have a local focus on our students, staff, partners and communities. Moving forward, we will combine this with the financial strength to invest in curriculum and infrastructure, bringing a regional perspective to the skills and learning opportunities we offer across further education and higher education as well as professional and technical qualifications, apprenticeships, adult and vocational learning.”
Anne Tyrrell has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the DN Colleges Group. She continues, “This is a milestone moment for further and higher education both in our local areas and for our region. Across the DN Colleges Group, the teaching, learning and employment journeys of our students is our main focus, with an emphasis on meeting the skills and training needs of our local and regional partners. As we build on the many synergies across our colleges, this collaboration will ensure we support future employment needs within and across regional boundaries, ultimately benefitting students, communities and employers from both local areas and beyond.”
Additional senior appointments include Paul Pascoe and Angela Briggs as Vice Chairs of the Group, Peter Doherty as Chief Operating Officer and Mick Lochran as Principal at North Lindsey College. As we move into the next phase of development there will be further appointments to support the progress of the individual colleges and the Group.
As previously confirmed, there will be no immediate changes for staff or students at either college. Current courses will continue, and prospective students should apply for courses in the normal way.
