Laura Prest, who achieved the highest marks for the academic year on her course, was awarded the Chartered Institute of Professional Development (CIPD) Student of the Year award.
Programme leader and lecturer Linda Rave nominated Laura for all her hard work and efforts throughout the course. “It’s not just about your grades, it’s the way you’ve thrown yourself into your studies and supported other members of the group to do the same, a true role model.”
As well as the title, Laura received a certificate and cheque for £100, which was sponsored by the CIPD South Yorkshire and District branch. The award was presented by former student and branch chair, Sally Senior.
Laura studied a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management at Doncaster College and University Centre but has taken temporary time out of her studies to work full-time in HR as an Organisation Development Facilitator for Bradford Teaching Hospital.
“I wouldn’t be where I am today without the course, and I will definitely come back to study. I said in my first portfolio I wanted to pursue a career in OD – and I did it!”
Sally, who also works for the NHS, finished studying a Masters in Human Resource Management with Doncaster College and University Centre, before going on to represent the local CIPD branch.
