International Applications


The International Office welcomes applications from students from all over the world to study at DN Colleges Group's modern campuses in Doncaster and Scunthorpe.

We provide information and advice to those who are thinking about studying with us as international students. We also offer support on arrival and during studies.

We work directly with employers so when you complete your studies you have the skills really needed in your chosen industry, and our facilities give you hands on experience that is essential to your future.

DN Colleges Group has Student Sponsor status allowing the assigning of a Confirmation of Acceptance of Study (CAS) to International students provided UKVI  and College/University Centre requirements are met. Doncaster College and University Centre courses which are eligible for study on a Student Visa are required to be full-time Level 3, 4 or 5 with 15 hours per week of organised daytime study or full-time and leading to a Level 6 qualification or above.

How to apply as an international applicant

Look on our website at our full-time courses, look carefully at the entry requirements, and choose a course that you are able to study.

  • FE application form – apply directly from the course web page
  • HE apply through UCAS

The application deadline is 30th June.

Prepare the following supporting documentation:

  • certified copies of your academic transcripts and certificates
  • a reference (academic) or referee contact details
  • education, work, volunteering experience and gaps (if not included on application form)
  • full visa history from the age of 18
  • colour scan of your passport
  • proof of maintenance requirement – £1023 per month (for up to 9 months) in an accepted account for at least 28 consecutive days. See here for details.
  • An IELTS for UKVI (Academic) English language test certificate (not more than 2 years old)

IELTS for UKVI (Academic) ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

For Further Education and HNDs we require a minimum score of 5.0 overall and 4 in each category.

For degrees we require a minimum score of 6.0 overall and 5.5 in each of the four categories.

An email will be sent to confirm receipt of your application, we may contact you for supporting documentation.

If you meet the entry requirements and are being considered, you will be invited to an online interview by the International team.

If successful you will receive an offer letter by e-mail, which needs signing and returning to confirm your acceptance of the offer and acceptance of the terms.

If you accept the place that is offered to you, we will require a payment of at least 50% of first year International fees.  Evidence of maintenance funds to cover living costs for year one of study and the remainder of courses fees is also required. Once received DN Colleges Group will provide a Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies (CAS)

Once you have the unconditional offer letter and you have made payment of International fees, you will then be able to apply for a visa using the Confirmation of Acceptance of Study (CAS) number provide.  It is possible to apply for a Student visa from 6 months before the start date of the course. Students who require a Student visa to study at Doncaster College and University Centre, Doncaster College and UCNL (University Campus North Lincolnshire) are not currently permitted to undertake work (paid or unpaid) other than work placements which are a part of the course being studied.

If a visa application is unsuccessful you will be refunded the fees paid minus £100 for administrative costs.

If your visa is granted you will be able to make your travel arrangements. Please confirm these with our International office once you have booked them.
