If you are looking to make a difference, the Leadership Academy is an AoC Sport project supporting college students striving to enhance and develop volunteering opportunities within your community.

Aiming to get more college students volunteering in sport and physical activity and to diversify the volunteer workforce, it’s the perfect opportunity to make a personal impact on your local area.

We have a number of roles designed to support your fellow students to get active.

Mental Health Ambassador

Ambassadors will support and encourage students experiencing mental health problems to become more active and promote local physical activity opportunities. Looking after mental health and wellbeing helps form good habits for life.  More information on the Mental Health Ambassador programme

This Girl Can Ambassador

This Girl Can Ambassadors promote the benefits of being active and inspire other females within College to participate in sport and physical activity whilst raising awareness of the Sport England This Girl Can campaign.

Inclusive Ambassador

The Inclusive Ambassadors will support student volunteers into disability specific sport and physical activity as well as championing inclusive activity.

Benefits for Ambassadors

  • An e-learning package, supported by Mind the mental health charity, to provide you with the knowledge and confidence needed to be an Ambassador
  • An improved awareness about the ‘Five ways to wellbeing’ movement
  • Support to create a wellbeing action plans
  • Develop key personal and employability skills such as verbal communication and empathy.

As part of the training each Ambassador will create their own wellbeing action plan which will be reviewed and discussed with a member of the Student Union team.
