Advanced Learning Loans
Students aged 19-23 who are studying their first full Level 3 course will be entitled to have their fees publically funded and will not require an Advanced Learning Loan.
Students aged 19+ who already hold a full level 3 qualification or above and who wish to enrol onto a further qualification at the same level will not be publically funded and may therefore wish to consider being funded through an Advanced Learning Loan.
Loan eligibility does not depend on a student’s income and there are no credit checks and repayment of the loan only starts when the student has completed their programme and they are earning more than £25,000 a year.
Students enrolling onto an Access to HE programme will have their Advanced Learner Loan written off where they go on to complete a HE programme that is funded by Student Finance England.

Where students are fully funded by an Advanced Learning Loan they are advised to read the 19+ Bursary Fund Procedure as they may also be eligible for additional financial support to help with the cost of their studies through this.
